My approach to coaching

The best writing coaches aren’t the ones who claim to have all the answers. They’re the ones who ask the right questions–the people who can help you get the story that is in your heart onto the page. In light of this, I approach each project with curiosity and an open mind. You are the architect of your own story. I will never tell you how to write your book, but I will bring my knowledge of the publishing industry, writing craft, and the challenges that writers commonly face, to assist you to overcome the challenges you’re having with your specific project.

Plan Your Novel

If you have the spark of an idea and need to turn it into a viable plan for a novel, this is the package for you.

Specific assignments to develop your idea from the ground up with written feedback provided on each step

4 deadlines and four 45-minute video calls to review the feedback

One-hour video call every other week to discuss your writing process, work out character or plot issues, or any other questions you have

Up to 10 page submission deadline every week with written feedback provided

Minimum 3-month commitment with the option to continue monthly afterward

Manuscript Evaluation

If you have a complete draft but you’re not sure if it’s holding together, this is the package for you.

Detailed editorial letter (five pages or more) highlighting strengths and areas for improvement

Analysis of structural issues such as characterization, pacing, plot, and narrative drive

In-line comments on the first two chapters or 20 pages (whichever is longer)

A one-hour video call to go over the feedback and next steps for revision

*Manuscript evaluation price is dependent on length of manuscript. Manuscripts from 50,000 to 80,000 words are $1200. Manuscripts above this wordcount are subject to an additional $200 for each additional 10,000 words. Note: A manuscript evaluation does NOT come with inline comments on the pages.
